Internal Financial Controls Reform
The Challenge - Skopion was engaged to resolve a high profile local government client receiving qualified (less than satisfactory) internal control Audit opinions.
The Solution - Skopion transformed and modernised the clients internal financial control Policy and Protocol framework after its controls were found less than effective by its Auditor.
Skopion created and presented new Framework, Policy and Protocols to the CFO and Audit Committee for its endorsement and Council adoption.
The suite of control documents directly contributed to the clients External Auditor citing modernised internal controls frameworks in the Annual Financial Statements audit in the following financial year.
The client achieved an unqualified (satisfactory) Internal Controls opinion for that financial year from the External Auditor.
