Business Case Development to expand NFP services
The Challenge – A client in the not-for-profit sector has engaged Skopion to guide it in developing a business case to expand its service offering.
The Solution - Skopion is providing ‘at the elbow’ advice to the client across a number key business streams at the organisation.
Initially this included facilitating business case workshops with front-line professionals, providing quality assurance advice across the financial analysis compiled by the clients corporate services function and also providing critical advice to Executives in regards to communicating the progress of the case to its Board.
This has ultimately saved the client time and effort and enhanced the standing of Executives with the Board.
Skopion will complete the engagement with a comprehensive financial model and business case report oulining the pros and cons for each unique expansion scenario.
Modernisation of Regional client's Financial System Architecture
The Challenge - A Finance Manager suspected the organisation's General Ledger Chart of Accounts was inefficient for the organisation to record its financial activity.
The Solution - Skopion undertook a 360 degree review of the chart of accounts. At the completion of the business review Skopion had identified over 1.5k of natural account components that were either under-utilised or not used at all by the business.
On behalf of the client Skopion then engaged the client's 3rd party financial application provider to complete the rationalisation of the GL components. The client now has a fit-for-purpose GL and chart of accounts.
Skopion's relentless curiosity realised considerable money and time savings, by demystifying the assumption that the current financial application required total replacement by the business. As a result of this engagement Skopion has delivered a number of other finance reform projects which have increased the confidence in its performance with Business Managers and the client's Auditors.
Skopion gets the unique challenges regional organisations face in providing products and services to their customers, constituents and stakeholdes.
